A paradigm shift towards carbon neutrality has started globally. How we design, build and live in buildings is changing.

BOSS (Building Offsite Sustainable Systems) advances the process for converting the building sector to be carbon neutral by providing an open source, holistic, and prescriptive approach to a complete building model. A model that advances efficiency for both operational and embodied carbon leading into 2030 when net-zero ready buildings become standard building code across the province of BC.

BOSS combines methods and materials that allow for:

• Offsite construction – creates the potential for repetition, economies of scale and better quality
• Panelized structural components incorporating engineered wood and timber
• Passive House - highest standard of building performance and energy efficiency, reducing operational carbon
• Low embodied carbon materials
• 100% electric and renewable energy sources
• Open source information dissemination for other builders and developers in the region to utilize

This session will be a workshop to review the details created, lessons learned and what is next.
