In June 2024, CAGBC hosted the inaugural National Embodied Carbon Summit. Together, 60 professionals from across the building sector identified key gaps and barriers in reducing embodied carbon in buildings and determined possible solutions for the industry.
Representatives from the building sector included: architects, engineers, construction management, sustainability consultants, and building material industry associations, as well as governments, agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and academic institutions.
This session will be comprised of a short overview of the key gaps and solutions, followed by a panel discussion from members of the Summit organizing committee.
