Join us for ZEBx’s second tour of 2025. We'll be visiting a Vancouver duplex just finishing construction, designed by Scott Kennedy of Cornerstone Architecture. For those who have been following Cornerstone Architecture, it won't come as a surprise to know that this building is designed to meet the Passive House standard and the top step of the Zero Carbon Step Code. It's an all-electric building that's packed with the latest cleantech, including a Longi solar array, an EG4 battery, and VanAir ventilated interior doors. Thanks to the solar array, over the course of a year, the duplex will be generating as much energy as the occupants consume, making this a net zero energy project. Heating, cooling, ventilation and air filtration is provided by the Innova Vertical HRA-i Plus unit and the domestic hot water is generated with a CO2-based SANCO2 heat pump water heater with heat recovery pipes on some of the drainage piping. Exceptional building envelope performance will be achieved with the help of triple-glazed windows by Innotech, 12” of under-slab EPS foam, Quadlock ICF foundation walls and dense-packed cellulose insulation.
Be sure to arrive at 3:30 for check-in and networking, before the tour begins at 4PM.
