Passive House Institute’s Jessica Grove-Smith and Vanya Chan will walk workshop attendees through the EnerPHit standard for Passive House retrofits. They’ll explain the pathways of EnerPHit certification for different climate zones, based on either component qualities or on energy demand targets. The workshop will include examples of how to plan, model, and apply for pre-certification of phased retrofit projects with the PHPP. Common pitfalls and challenges in Passive House retrofits and EnerPHit certification will be discussed, as well as examples of solutions employed by practitioners.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe the EnerPHit standard for deep energy retrofit projects in different climate zones
  2. Discuss common challenges and solutions for retrofit projects
  3. Compare the impact of different retrofit measures by modelling these as PHPP variants
  4. Apply the EnerPHit Retrofit Plan (ERP) for phased retrofit projects
