Buildings account for a significant proportion of our national greenhouse gas emissions profile, making the design and operation of low-carbon buildings a priority in meeting national targets. CAGBC’s Zero Carbon Building™ (ZCB) standards are a made-in-Canada framework that makes carbon the new measure of building innovation. In this introductory webinar, participants will gain clarity of what constitutes a Zero Carbon Building, the pivotal role of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and sustainable design elements of the ZCB-Performance Standard and the ZCB-Design Standard, as well as the broader implications of certifying buildings as Zero Carbon for sustainability. Participants will also learn about the guiding principles, requirements, and the process of certifying a building as Zero Carbon. The webinar will provide participants with an overview of the framework, as well as the opportunity to ask questions about its key dimensions and next steps.
Who Should Attend: This webinar is tailored for architects, engineers, sustainability professionals, policymakers, and anyone passionate about driving sustainable change in Canada’s journey toward decarbonization of the building industry.
