Buildings account for a significant proportion of our national greenhouse gas emissions profile, making the design and operation of low-carbon buildings a priority in meeting national targets. CAGBC’s Zero Carbon Building™ (ZCB) standards are a made-in-Canada framework that makes carbon the new measure of building innovation. In this introductory webinar, participants will gain clarity of what constitutes a Zero Carbon Building, the pivotal role of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and sustainable design elements of the ZCB-Performance Standard and the ZCB-Design Standard, as well as the broader implications of certifying buildings as Zero Carbon for sustainability. Participants will also learn about the guiding principles, requirements, and the process of certifying a building as Zero Carbon.
