Along with high-quality, high-performance housing, Naikoon Contracting is collaborating with First Nations to deploy mobile prefab factories to catalyze local economic development, workforce training and growth in modern, energy efficient, methods of construction.
This 90-minute webinar explores two multi-faceted partnerships:
• Tsleil-Waututh Nation partnered with Naikoon to launch the first “Flying Factory” to sustain the Nation’s growth in trades training, manufacturing, business development and accelerate housing delivery, starting with a six-storey affordable, multifamily project.
• Old Masset Village Council is co-locating their Flying Factory with its Haida Gwaii Forest Products mill to deliver on diverse housing and infrastructure priorities, and add value and strengthen demand for primary forest products hard hit by the softwood lumber war.
Key Topics
• Social, Economic & Climate Synergies: accelerating delivery on housing and emissions reduction while maximizing local economic benefit
• Workforce Development: building local skills in modern, low-carbon construction and business
