Members of the building industry across the Lower Mainland are invited to register for the free cutting-edge, Step 5 On-Site Workshops and learn all about the design, construction, and permitting of a ground-breaking townhouse project that targets compliance with Step 5 of the BC Energy Step Code, CHBA’s Net Zero Energy Ready Standard, and EL-4 of the Zero Carbon Step Code.  The targets this project are committed to, exceed our provincial 2032 targets for energy and emissions, today.

On Tuesday, July 11th, 2023 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, the Township of Langley will be hosting an online builder forum to share information related to design best practices for Part 9 buildings building to the upper Steps of the BC Energy Step Code.

Differences between the lower Steps and upper Steps will be highlighted including mechanical, envelope, and aesthetic differences. An update from the Township of Langley's upcoming requirements for Step 4 and verification and submission requirements will be given at the beginning of the webinar.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 9:00 - 11:00am, the Township of Langley will be hosting an online builder forum to share information related to integrated design process (IDP) and how it can help you meet and exceed energy performance targets in Part 9 buildings. Topics include: a step-by-step on effectively conducting IDP for Step 4/5 buildings, key stakeholders in IDP, and real-life examples of buildings that have gone through the IDP process. Township of Langley updates will be given at the beginning of the webinar.

Register now for our upcoming Builder Forum Series focused on best practices for designing high performance Part 9 buildings. There will also be a presentation on the upcoming proposed BC Energy Step Code updates to the Township’s Building Bylaw 4642. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A and questions will be taken for 5 business days through greenbuildings@tol.ca following the event.
